About this tool
The Cambodia Working Days & Holiday Counter helps HR and payroll teams calculate exactly how many working days fall in any date range. Cambodia observes many public holidays each year (fixed calendar dates and lunar festivals announced by Royal Decree), and most employers also treat Saturday and Sunday as non-working days. Enter a start and end date to see total calendar days, weekend days, official public holidays in the period, and net working days suitable for monthly payroll, pro-rata salary, or daily overtime calculations.
How it works
Choose your period start and end dates. The tool walks each calendar day in the range, classifies Saturdays and Sundays as weekends, and matches other days against the official Cambodia public holiday list (the same data as our Cambodia Holidays tool for supported years). Net working days are weekdays that are not public holidays. Holidays that fall on a weekend are still counted in the public holiday total but do not reduce net working days twice.
Use cases
- Calculating payable working days for a monthly payroll cycle
- Pro-rating salary when an employee joins or leaves mid-month
- Estimating daily overtime denominators for a given period
- Planning project timelines around Khmer New Year or Pchum Ben
- Auditing leave or attendance records against official non-working days
Frequently asked questions
Which weekends are excluded?
The calculator treats Saturday and Sunday as non-working weekend days, which is standard for office and factory schedules in Cambodia. If your organization uses a different weekly rest pattern, adjust the net figure manually.
Where do public holiday dates come from?
We use the curated Cambodia public holiday list in our Cambodia Holidays tool, including fixed national holidays and lunar festivals (Khmer New Year, Pchum Ben, Water Festival, etc.) for supported years. Always confirm critical payroll dates against the latest Royal Decree or Ministry of Labour notice.
What if my date range spans an unsupported year?
Holiday data is available for 2025, 2026, and 2027. If your range includes another year, the tool still counts weekends but may not include all public holidays until that year is added.
Data and accuracy
Public holiday dates are maintained in the inkhmer.com Cambodia Holidays dataset (fixed and lunar entries per supported year). Weekend logic uses the Gregorian calendar (Saturday–Sunday). For authoritative announcements, refer to the Kingdom of Cambodia Royal Decree on public holidays and the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training.
