About this tool
The Cambodia Annual Leave Calculator estimates how many days of paid annual leave an employee has accrued from their start date until a chosen “as of” date. Under the Labor Law of Cambodia, employees earn 1.5 working days of annual leave per month worked (18 days per year), and receive one additional day of annual leave for every three years of continuous service. HR teams use this for leave balances, pro-rata settlements, and policy explanations; employees can check their entitlement before requesting time off.
How it works
Enter the employment start date and the date you want to calculate up to (defaults to today). The tool counts complete calendar months between the two dates. For each month worked, it accrues one-twelfth of the annual entitlement that applied at that point in service—18 days per year at first, then 19 days per year after 3 years, 20 after 6 years, and so on. Results show total accrued days, months and years of service, seniority blocks, and the current annual and monthly accrual rates.
Use cases
- Checking accrued leave before approving a vacation request
- Calculating leave balance for an employee resigning mid-year
- Explaining seniority top-ups to new hires after probation
- HR audits of leave records against statutory minimums
- Comparing policy benefits with legal baseline entitlements
Frequently asked questions
What is the legal annual leave rate in Cambodia?
Article 166 of the Labor Law grants 1.5 working days of paid annual leave per month of service, equivalent to 18 days per 12-month year. Article 167 adds one extra day of annual leave for each period of three years of continuous service with the same employer.
Are partial months counted?
This calculator accrues leave only for complete calendar months (if the as-of day is before the start day of the month, that month is not counted). Employers may round or grant pro-rata differently under internal policy or collective agreements—always follow your contract and HR rules.
Does unused leave carry over?
Carry-over and payout rules depend on your employment contract, internal policy, and how the Labor Law is applied in practice. This tool only calculates statutory accrual, not payout or forfeiture.
Data and accuracy
Accrual logic follows Cambodia Labor Law Articles 166–167 (paid annual leave and seniority increment). This is a statutory baseline calculator, not legal advice. Confirm specific cases with the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training or qualified counsel.
