About this tool

This planner turns your destination, dates, interests, budget, travel group and preferred pace into an AI-generated Cambodia itinerary. You can answer those prompts or choose a ready-made plan; the result is a draft with day-by-day activities, meal ideas and map links. Treat every suggestion as a starting point to check and adapt. It is not a booking, price quote, confirmation that a place is open, or a source of visa advice. The service sends the choices you submit to an AI model through InKhmer’s Cloudflare AI Gateway. Results are cached for 24 hours, so the same request may return a cached plan; the service does not offer a user account or saved-trip library. For a first route, travelers often consider Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and then the coast, adjusting the order and nights to fit their dates. Overland travel connects these stops; a domestic flight may suit a tighter schedule, but check current routes and availability yourself. Cambodia’s dry season and wet season each involve a trade-off: weather varies, so check conditions close to departure. How it works

The page collects destination, date range, selected interests, budget, travel group, pace and language. TravelItineraryService.generateItinerary in api/src/features/web/travel/services/travel-itinerary-service.ts builds a prompt from those values and calls the OpenAI model configured by OPENAI_TRAVEL_MODEL (default gpt-4o-mini) through the Cloudflare AI Gateway. It asks for a markdown itinerary and structured day, activity, meal and tour-suggestion data. Suggested places without coordinates are looked up one at a time through OpenStreetMap Nominatim; the page creates Google Maps search and Google Images links for activities. The photo endpoint does not provide actual photo assets. The service caches a result by the full set of choices in memory and in a JSON file for 24 hours. This is a cache, not a personal saved itinerary. If the AI gateway is not configured, generation returns an unavailable error; empty or failed AI responses also return an error. Verify places, routes, opening status, transport and costs independently before relying on a generated plan.

• Is this an AI-generated itinerary?

  Yes. The planner sends the destination, dates, interests, budget, travel group, pace and language you submit to an AI model through InKhmer’s Cloudflare AI Gateway. The model generates a suggested itinerary. It can be incomplete or mistaken, so verify every place and practical detail yourself before making plans.

• Does the planner book hotels, transport or tours?

  No. It produces itinerary suggestions and links for exploring places. It does not make bookings, reserve seats, contact tour operators or confirm availability. Follow the provider’s own booking process and read its terms before paying for accommodation, transport, activities or tours.

• Are prices and opening hours current?

  No. The generated plan is not a live price feed or opening-hours service. It cannot guarantee that a suggested place is open, accessible or operating on your dates. Check current details with the place or relevant provider, especially around holidays, weather disruptions and planned closures.

• Does it give visa advice?

  No. The planner does not determine visa eligibility, entry requirements or permitted stay. Those rules depend on your circumstances and can change. Check current requirements with the Cambodian authorities or the embassy responsible for your passport before traveling; do not use an AI itinerary as immigration guidance.

• Does the service save my itinerary?

  It caches generated results for up to 24 hours, keyed by the choices in the request, in memory and a server-side JSON file. That cache helps serve repeated requests; it is not a personal account or saved-trip library. The page does not offer a control to retrieve a lasting itinerary later.

• What should I know about visiting Angkor?

  Treat the plan as an outline and check current access and pass requirements with Angkor Enterprise before visiting. The planner cannot issue a temple pass or confirm that a specific temple is open. Build enough flexibility into your days and verify any access, transport or site rules close to your visit.
