Check weather across Cambodia: the capital, the Gulf of Thailand coast, and provincial cities.
Kampot is a city in southern Cambodia and the capital of Kampot Province. It sits on the Praek Tuek Chhu River, a few kilometres from the Gulf of Thailand and southeast of the Elephant Mountains. The province is famous for Kampot pepper, fish sauce, and durian. The climate is tropical monsoon, with a wet season from May to October and a drier season from November to April. The coast and the Elephant Mountains receive more rain than much of the interior; the area is influenced by the southwest monsoon. Temperatures are high year-round, with typical daytime maxima in the low to mid-30s °C and high humidity, especially in the wet season. The dry season is sunnier and somewhat less humid, with December to February often the most comfortable for travel. Kampot's riverside and nearby Bokor Hill Station are popular with visitors. Checking the weather in Kampot helps when planning river trips, pepper-farm visits, and travel to the coast or the mountains.
